IELTS Speaking exam – Part 1 speaking examples

Want to know what you will hear in Part 1 of the speaking test? Listen to these examples of what you may hear in Part 1 of the IELTS Speaking test.

The first topic in the IELTS test is always connected to either your home or your job/studies. You don’t have to give very detailed answers to these questions as the topic is so familiar. You will only be asked three questions on this topic at most but you can listen to a selection of possible questions below. Pause the recording after each question and try to answer it.

After talking about your home or your work/study you will have to discuss two other topics in Part 1. Again, you don’t need to give lots and lots of detail but you should try to answer the questions fully.

Now choose two more topics, listen to the samples and think what you would say to answer these questions. Pause the audio after each question.
